Happy Birthday, Griffin. I feel like just yesterday we were checking into the hospital anticipating your arrival and now we're celebrating your fourth birthday. You have grown into a little man and you are smart, funny, sensitive, kind and a little bossy.
Everyday you amaze us with your intelligence ("Mom, when are we going to Mt. Kilimanjaro?" or "Did you know that Jabari Parker has my last name?" or "How many more exits until we get to our house and is this a highway or interstate?") The comments and questions are endless and they keep us on our toes.
You are sensitive and your feelings get hurt if you don't get your way. We are working on that and constantly use this phrase with you - you get what you get and you don't pitch a fit.
Griffin you are kind and even your teachers say so. When someone is hurt or crying you always run over to help them or share a toy to make them feel better. You will do the same with your sister as long as it doesn't involve sharing cars or planes.
Sometimes you can be a little bossy and you're start to develop an attitude. I'm sure this is normal behavior but telling mom, "whatever" is still not cool in our house.
We love you so much Griffin and you bring so much joy to our house. I love tucking you in every night and getting a big bear hug and kiss. I love when you ask me to hold you even though you weigh 40 pounds.
We hope you had a great birthday!!

Greyson's Birthday
Griffin's friend, Greyson celebrated his 4th birthday this weekend. The trio (Greyson, Griffin and Ryan) all got together to party. The theme was planes, trains and automobiles which suited these three perfectly.

Soccer
Griffin's first soccer practice and game was Saturday and this was his first experience playing a team sport. He is on the 4 and 5 year old team so he is one of the youngest, but one of the biggest. He did really well and told us he enjoyed it. He listened to his coach and played hard.

Ryan's Birthday
Griffin, Greyson and Ryan have been friends since they were 18 months old. They all attend the same preschool and have been in the same class together since the beginning. This weekend we were able to celebrate Ryan's 4th birthday. In keeping with their interests it was all about trains and cars. Griffin had such a great time and was so excited to play with his friends on the weekend.
Of course, boys will be boys and no one wanted to take a picture or look at the camera!

Griffin's laugh
Posting this video of Griffin (age 3.5) because I never want to forget this sweet laugh.
Of course, watching Thomas the Train poot on another train is what is triggering the laugh, but even so it's too precious to forget.

Valentine's Day
We celebrated Valentine's Day at daycare with a little afternoon party. Griffin had a great time and collected lots of cards and sweet treats from his friends. Unfortunately, Sarah Kate had an ear infection and spent her day at the doctor.

Snow Day Fun
The last weekend in January we got several inches of snow. Of course this was the weekend before we moved so supplies were limited. We used the old crib mattress as a sled and some rope that was meant to tie down furniture. But the kids didn't seem mind the mattress sled and kept asking for one more turn. We even tried a mini snowball fight but the snow was too powdery. Too bad all of the fun leads to cold kids and lots of wet clothes for mom to wash.
And here is a short video because I love hearing them scream, "weeeeeeee."
