All smiles

Griffin is such a happy baby and most times you can find him with a smile on his face. There's nothing better than walking into the room and being greeted with this sweet face.

My first toothbrush

Griffin got his first toothbrush this weekend. With 8 teeth and more on the way we thought it was time to start brushing them. It went better than expected - he doesn't like brushing the top as much but he's warming up to the idea. He even got so excited he tried it himself. We hope he gets Scott's teeth. Otherwise, if he gets mine we'll end up with a huge dental bill because he'll have a cavity in each one.

And he's OFF!

Griffin is On the Move ... at a snails pace, but moving forward nonetheless! For weeks he has been rolling across the room or scooting backwards but in the past few days he has begun inching forward going further & further each day. For him to move it has to be something he really wants. If the dogs aren't available to use as bait then brightly colored blocks seem to be doing just the trick. He is so proud of himself when he gets there, then lays down like it has been a big workout.

Ready.

Set.

Go.

Sick baby

Having a sick baby is a lot of work. Can I just say that trying to suck your baby's snot out with a mini vacuum cleaner could very well be the hardest thing EVER! They work like a treat, but I just don't have the heart to pin him down, shove the thing up his nose and suck away. He thrashes around like the ending of Jaws 2. I'm afraid I'm hurting him and the crying doesn't help. There is nothing quite like the wrath of a sick baby. Irritability has sky rocketed. If he could permanently attach himself to me and hang on me all day, he would. I'm desperate to keep him entertained - even if that includes bundling him up and taking a ride in the stroller or letting him lick the peanut butter jar clean.

Griffin is 10 months

I can't believe that in two months Griffin will be a year old! This year is going by so fast and Griffin is becoming such a little man. He weighs 22 lbs, 11 ozs. He likes to hold his own sippy cup and he likes to feed himself. We have to be careful how many pieces of food we give him at once - he will put all of them in his mouth! Griffin likes to hold books and turn the pages. He is becoming so independent and he desperately wants to walk. I love going in his room every morning to get him up - he greets me with the biggest smile. He also likes to give out kisses and I can't get enough of those!

Master of the Sippy Cup

Griffin has been making the transition from bottles to sippy cups. We tried several different kinds, but found that the ones with a straw are the best and easiest to use. He's now using the sippy cup for all meals and snacks. He's learning more and more everyday - now I can't wait until he can feed himself!

Snow, Snow & More Snow

So far this winter we have had a TON of snow! It was nice the first couple of times but now we are all dreaming of spring days. I hope these will be our last snow photos until next year!

Cookies

I love finding fun projects to do with Griffin so we decided to make cookies. We made them once before and he had a great time - second time was no different. He had so much fun playing with the cookie dough (he was so sneaky - trying to eat it the entire time). He loved decorating them more than anything, and I'm pretty sure more sprinkles ended up in his mouth than on the cookies.

First Day of School

Griffin had his first day of school (daycare) today. What an emotional day! There were some tears, but he seemed to do great for his first day. I'm looking forward to him learning new things and making new friends. I'm sure in no time he will settle in.
