Griffin's Photo Shoot

I'm the proud mother of a busy, buzzy, stuck in fast-forward little baby boy. He's at an age where playing with any toy for more than 15 minutes doesn't cut it despite our living room having the capacity to light up, squeak, honk or play a high-pitched version of some nursery rhyme. So today we planned an outing for GiGi and Griffin to come visit me at work. We had the opportunity to do a quick photo shoot and here are a few pictures. To see the full album click here. Enjoy!

When Carrots Attack

Feeding has gotten a little messy lately. Griffin gets so excited when he gets in his bumbo chair. I can't get the food in his mouth fast enough. The issue is that he likes to "help" mommy by putting the spoon in his mouth ... which pretty much means he is covered with food from head to toe. Tonight, it seriously looks like he got attacked by the carrots. I'm hoping this doesn't become the norm!

Baby pool

With temperatures reaching near 100 this weekend we thought it was time to invest in a baby pool. Griffin loved splashing and playing. He is officially a water bug this summer!

4-month check up

Griffin had his 4-month old checkup this week. He weighed in at 15 lbs 15 ozs and was 26.75 in long. Quite a jump from last time - he grew 5 inches in 2 months! I think we have a basketball player in the making. Now I'm just waiting on our season tickets to arrive.

Tummy Time

Griffin is so proud that he can hold his head up by himself ... you can tell he wants to say "Mom & Dad - look at me!" His little smile makes changing diapers, feeding bottles, changing outfits and cleaning up well worth every minute.

Griffin's Baptism

Griffin was baptized at First Presbyterian Church in Monroe today. It was a very special day and we celebrated by having lunch with our family and friends. Griffin was a little angel.

4 months old

Our sweet Griffin is 4 months old today. He is becoming more active and we can't believe how much he is growing.

New in the past few weeks:
kicking and grabbing his feet
taking off his socks
trying to hold his bottle
smiling and cooing
trying to eat from a spoon

Now if only I could add sleeping through the night to the list!

Curious Baby

Griffin is becoming so curious of his surroundings. His favorite activity is going on walks and he loves exploring outside. Here is a picture from our most recent one.

Almost 4 months old

I can't believe how quickly the last three months have flown by. Griffin is growing up so fast! We have endured shots, managed crying spells, visited the pediatrician multiple times and changed more diapers than I can count. Of course this doesn't begin to scratch the surface of everything we have been through, but we are beginning to get pretty comfortable with this parenting concept.

First taste of Rice Cereal - June 24

Griffin had his first tast of "food" this week and what an experience it was! I don't think he's so sure about the new taste and texture. As you can see, more ended up on him than in his mouth! But I'm sure he'll grow to love it soon enough. One thing is for sure ... with new foods come new messes and more loads of laundry.

Exausaucer - June 18

Griffin loves his new toy! He is finally big enough to play in the Exausaucer. He loves looking at all of the rainforest animals and listening to the jungle sounds.

Memorial Weekend - May 30

Griffin made his first trip to South Carolina to visit Scott's family for Memorial weekend. He had a blast visiting with Nana, Pops, Aunt Kim, PaPa Tim and his cousins Christian-Kate and Grace. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Austin turns 21 - May 29

Griffin made a quick trip home to Charlotte to help Uncle Austin celebrate his 21st birthday. We enjoyed lunch at Brio followed by a visit to Uncle Jon Jon's condo.

Mother's day - May 9

Today was a special day - my first Mother's day. Scott and Griffin knew just what I needed - a massage gift card. Carrying a baby makes me use muscles I didn't even know I had.

We also celebrated today with my family coming up for lunch. GiGi, PopPop, Uncle Jon Jon and Uncle Austin all came up to visit and play with baby Griffin. GiGi and I both got web cams for Mother's day. We can't wait to Skype!

Baby's first photo shoot - April 19

Griffin is 5 weeks old, so GiGi and I figured we would take him to work for his first visit. All of the ladies loved him and he sure did love all of the attention! The agency was preparing for a photo shoot, and luckily while we were there, we got to take a few pictures with Griffin (thanks to Winters). Here are a few photos from Griffin's first photo shoot.

One month check up - April 15

We got a great report from the pediatrician. Griffin is growing like a weed. It seems like just the other day he was so tiny. Now if he could just feed himself and go to the bathroom solo we would be in business! Things have been going well. We are trying to get into a routine, but when Griffin is going through growth spurts and eating every 2 hours, sometimes you have to settle for any structure you can get - even if it changes every few days.

4 weeks old - April 12

As you can imagine it is hard to find time to post. Even if Griffin decides to sleep 3-4 hours - after you feed him, clean bottles, do laundry, eat something yourself and sit down for 15 minutes - then it's time to do it all over again. Not to mention if he is up most of the night, then our few minutes of downtime turn into naptime for the parents. It's easy to see how the days can get away from you. He is 4 weeks old and the time has flown by.

Easter Bunny's first visit - April 4

Griffin celebrated his first Easter with a visit from the Easter bunny. He was amazed at the big blue bunny in his basket. I'm not sure who enjoyed his basket more - me or Griffin. I think I had as much fun putting it together as he did looking at it.

The Easter bunny wasn't the only visitor, his Uncle Jon Jon and Uncle Austin came to visit and meet him for the first time.

Birth Announcement - March 24

Trying to get a 2-week-old to pose for a picture is not an easy task. It only took 50 tries to get the perfect picture for his birth announcement!

Bath Time - March 22

Griffin loves bath time. His eyes light up as soon as he hears the water running. Baths were one of the only things that would calm him down and GiGi knew how to give a good bath and a good snuggle afterwards!
