Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. The kids were very into it and so excited to wake up to Santa on Christmas morning. They were on the good list and were spoiled! We spent the morning here playing with gifts then packed up and headed to Monroe for Christmas with Pop and Gigi. We are celebrating with Scott's family next weekend so more fun to come.

Soccer Season #2

Griffin played fall soccer with this year and finished up his season in late October. He really enjoys soccer and the last game of the season the parents were able to play on the field with the kids. In fact, every weekend he talks Scott into playing a game with him.

Holidays

This year we've been busy celebrating the holiday season as a family. We've watched Christmas movies such as Charlie Brown, Polar Express and Frosty the Snowman. We visited Santa, rode a train, watched a light show and went to story time to hear about Rudolph and Elf on the Shelf. The kids have really enjoyed all of the magic that surrounds the holiday season.

Vester, our Elf has been back in action and is up to mischief each morning. They love trying to find him each day and hope that they made it on the nice list once again. Santa has also called and sent videos for each child reminding them how important it is to be well behaved.

We also went shopping this year for a family in need and the kids had the opportunity to pick out toys for the little ones. We want them to realize that it's means a lot to give back.

Now we're on the final stretch until Christmas and I can't wait to see the joy and excitement they feel as they wake up Christmas morning to find Santa came for a visit.

Thanksgiving with family

We travelled to see both families this year for Thanksgiving. We started our trip in SC to see Kim, CK and Grace and finished our trip with GiGi, Pop, Jon and Austin. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins and seeing their family.

Happy Thanksgiving from my little turkeys!

SK found the scissors

I guess we knew it would happen sooner or later, but Sarah Kate found a pair of scissors and decided to cut her hair. It happened so fast I didn't realize how much she cut it until I ran my fingers through it and a big pile fell out. At least she has plenty of hair, for now.

Thanksgiving Festivities

Thanksgiving started off with a preschool party in each class. Both had a nice lunch followed by a short program in Griffin's class.

Lunch with friends:

Cupcakes we made for the party:

Then for the first part of the program, each child went around the room and told what he was thankful for:

Then, they sang a couple of songs:

State Fair

We took our annual trip to the state fair and the kids had a blast. They were so excited about the rides despite the 20 minute wait at each one. Even mom and dad got in on the ride excitement and rode some of the kiddie rides with them.  Even Griffin talked Scott into riding the drop zone and I don't think either of them realized how high it went and how fast it dropped. I certainly was nervous for them, but Griffin loved it.

Happy Halloween

Griffin and Sarah Kate had a lot of fun on Halloween. They started with trick or treating at school, followed by a school party and then ended the night with trick or treating through the neighborhood. We walked around for an hour and collected candy and then they spent just as long eating it once we got home.
