Our little helper
Lately Griffin has become such a great helper. He says "mess" with such a Southern accent and will pick up trash and put it in the trash can. He also says "dirty" and then wants a paper towel to clean up. He definitely does not like his hands or feet to be dirty and wants them cleaned right away! He is our little neat freak and loves to help mom and dad clean the house. His favorite activities are sweeping, unloading the dishwasher, grocery shopping and helping with laundry.

22 Months
Griffin is 22 months today!
These days Griffin is all about talking, talking, talking. We think it's a combination of preschool and this age but most of the time Griffin is able to tell us what he wants. He speaks with 2-3 words grouped together and is always excited when he learns a new word. Some of his favorite words are mama, dada, choo choo, truck, fire truck, ambulance, choc milk and NO.
He definitely has an opinion about everything and has no problem telling us no, no, no, no if he doesn't want to do something like take a bath or eat dinner. We're also experiencing tantrums if he doesn't get his way. I hope he outgrows that fast!
He has become such a picky eater. We're lucky to get him to eat anything besides snacks. We play games to make meal time more fun like picking up our food with swords (toothpicks) or having the airplane bring him bites of food. Dinner time is definitely a lot of work right now.
Griffin still loves trucks, trains and cars and talks about them all of the time. He plays with his train table everyday and says choo choo all of the time. He's also doing great in his big boy room. He goes right to sleep for naps and at night in his big boy bed.

BIG Boy!
Griffin is growing up and a big boy bed was in order. He did great with the transition. His first night he went right to sleep and still has not attempted to get out of his bed yet. He loves sleeping with all of his babies and we line them up so he has plenty to snuggle with at night.

Preschool Party
Griffin's preschool had its Christmas party last week. He had a good time running around and showing us all of his toys! We wanted to do something special for all of his new friends so he helped make Rudolph treat bags for all of the kids.

Merry Christmas
We had a great Christmas this year. All of our family came to visit us this year since the doctor won't allow me to travel anymore with this pregnancy. Griffin was much more aware of what was going on and talked about Santa Claus a lot. He was shocked Christmas morning when he walked into the den to see all the toys that Santa left for him. I can't wait until next year when we have two kids to share this special time with.
Santa came!
Surprised by all his new toys
Pointing to all the cars and trucks
Showing off his new train table.
Helping unwrap gifts

21 Months
Griffin is 21 months old! He is really able to communicate well and uses 2-3 words together at a time. He has even learned how to give orders. For example, "mama up", "mama floor", "dada walk". Griffin loves to talk and he has learned so many new words. It really amazes me at the things he says somedays.
He is also in love with cars and trucks. He races them around the house and talks about them all of the time. We talk about cars and trucks a lot and I hear "truck", "car", "fire truck", "dump truck" and "ambulance" at least 20 times a day. We even point out trucks, buses and trains when driving down the road. We also rarely leave a store without a new toy car or truck.
Griffin has become a picky eater. One week he likes something and the next week he hates it. He is keeping me and Scott on our toes because we're always trying to come up with new stuff for him to eat.
Griffin really seems to enjoy preschool. He goes in every morning and starts playing! It's such a relief taking him to a place where he feels comfortable. There are eight kids in his class and they all seem to play together well, plus he loves his teachers!
He loves to help do chores. He helps unload the dishwasher and puts all the silverware in the drawer. It's usually not in the right place, but at least it's in the drawer. He also loves to help with laundry. He will pick up the dirty clothes and dump them into the bathtub. Guess it's close enough. I mean, if he gets clean in the bath tub, then the clothes should too, right?
Every morning before school, Griffin climbs in our bed and eats breakfast while he watches cartoons. I love having snuggle time with him before work! He runs straight into our room when he wakes up and says "bed, bed, bed". I guess it's good that he likes the big bed because he will be moving into his big boy room soon!

Santa Claus
Griffin - 1, Santa - 0
Griffin was not a fan of visiting Santa this year. We talked about it a lot before the visit and looked at lots of pictures of Santa Claus. Griffin would say his name and I thought he was excited about our trip to the mall. Well, after waiting in line for 45 minutes it was finally his turn. We took two steps near him and then a full melt down occurred, there were tears, kicking and crying. Griffin refused to sit on his lap so I sat with Santa while Scott took pictures. Hopefully next year Santa won't be as scary and Griffin will visit with him.
However, when we were 20 feet away from Santa, Griffin finally yelled down the mall that he wanted Santa to bring him a choo choo train for Christmas!
