Happy Birthday, Griffin. I feel like just yesterday we were checking into the hospital anticipating your arrival and now we're celebrating your fourth birthday. You have grown into a little man and you are smart, funny, sensitive, kind and a little bossy.
Everyday you amaze us with your intelligence ("Mom, when are we going to Mt. Kilimanjaro?" or "Did you know that Jabari Parker has my last name?" or "How many more exits until we get to our house and is this a highway or interstate?") The comments and questions are endless and they keep us on our toes.
You are sensitive and your feelings get hurt if you don't get your way. We are working on that and constantly use this phrase with you - you get what you get and you don't pitch a fit.
Griffin you are kind and even your teachers say so. When someone is hurt or crying you always run over to help them or share a toy to make them feel better. You will do the same with your sister as long as it doesn't involve sharing cars or planes.
Sometimes you can be a little bossy and you're start to develop an attitude. I'm sure this is normal behavior but telling mom, "whatever" is still not cool in our house.
We love you so much Griffin and you bring so much joy to our house. I love tucking you in every night and getting a big bear hug and kiss. I love when you ask me to hold you even though you weigh 40 pounds.
We hope you had a great birthday!!
